This is the most amazing nursing home visit you’ll ever experience!!

An Táin Arts Centre is delighted to have the renowned performance ‘The Collector’ coming to their main stage on Friday 13th March at 8pm. The Collector – The Presence of Absence is a visually striking and emotionally resonant performance that tells the story of The Collector, a reclusive man who has withdrawn from the outside world and rebuilt reality from the discarded remnants of society.
Blending circus skills, physical theatre, projection mapping, dysfunctional furniture, and a richly textured soundscape, The Collector creates a semi-fantastical world built from scraps, imagination, and survival. A single suitcase just large enough to fit inside becomes both refuge and portal, as The Collector navigates his self-made universe of memory, loss, and quiet wonder.
Paul Hayes, Director of An Táin Arts Centre says “The Collector is a unique theatre performance that is not to be missed. The mix of visual and audio blends to create a masterpiece. If you’re looking for a powerful night out, you will thoroughly enjoy this show!”
At its heart, the work is a beautiful and compassionate exploration of social isolation, inviting audiences to look again at what is overlooked, discarded, or deemed eccentric. It celebrates the unexpected humanity found in forgotten places and the resilience of imagination when connection feels out of reach. Suitable for ages 8+
Tickets €20 / €18 Concession (€1.50 Booking Fee Per Person) and can be purchased at An Táin Arts Centre box office on Crowe St, over the phone on 04293 32332, or online at antain.ie.
