Dundalk is set to light up with a spectacular evening of arts, creativity, and entertainment! Culture Night, the nationwide celebration, returns to Dundalk on Friday September 19th, with a host of free events from 6pm to 9pm at An Táin Arts Centre and Bó Studios.

The evening begins with a family hangout in the foyer, complete with face painting and balloon twisting. Visitors can enjoy a screening of Border Memories by former Artist in Residence Sinéad Murphy, an outdoor projected opera with The Scorched Earth Trilogy, and a dance workshop with LUAIL – Ireland’s National Dance Company. Music lovers can look forward to Bloomsday Belles, a performance of original music and song inspired by the female characters in James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’.

The visual arts programme includes workshops in comic book illustration with Sophie Coyle, a workshop in alternative photography with An Táin Arts Centre’s Emerging Visual Artist in Residence Greta Usaite, a late-night Basement Gallery opening of Greta’s work-in-progress exhibition, and the unveiling of I See Who I am, an exhibition created as part of the Positive Aging Project with artist Els Borghart.

Just a short stroll from An Táin Arts Centre, Bó Studios will also open its doors to the public for the evening with a fantastic programme of events, including an exhibition in their upstairs space.

Culture Night 2025 promises a lively evening of art, music, film, dance and community spirit.

“We’re delighted to present such a rich programme this year, and we invite everyone to come out and celebrate Culture Night with us.”
— Paul Hayes (Director, An Táin Arts Centre)
