Two local childcare services, Dun Dealgan Childcare and Bright Beginnings Dundalk, have come together to support St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen through a heartwarming community project: the creation of their very own multicultural cookbook as part of the Peaceplus Aspire programme.
Inspired by their preschool children’s love of cooking and the rich diversity within their centres, both services collaborated to produce a unique cookbook featuring recipes shared by children and their families. The project celebrates the many cultures represented across the two settings, highlighting the importance of community, inclusion, and the joys of home-cooked food.
“All funds raised will be donated directly to St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen,” said the management teams from both services. “This charity plays an essential role in supporting those most in need in Dundalk, and we are delighted to contribute to their work through this initiative.”
The cookbook will officially launch in the first week of December. Copies will be available for purchase at both childcare services, as well as at several local businesses, including Hollands Hardware, McEvoys Drapery, Roe River Books, and Costcutters in Riverstown.
To further share the story behind the project, representatives from Dun Dealgan Childcare and Bright Beginnings will appear on Dundalk FM to discuss the cookbook, the children’s involvement, and the importance of supporting the Soup Kitchen.
This collaborative fundraiser not only celebrates cultural diversity and community spirit but also showcases the creativity and enthusiasm of the children and families who contributed.
